Flight to the Top of the Mont Blanc

Blue sky, white mountains and a helicopter. That’s what I got a couple of weeks ago. I went with a helicopter for a 30 minutes ride into the Mont Blanc massif. It was a fantastic and exciting trip with great impressions – and pictures. Flying trough narrow valleys and over glaciers with low altitude gave me a kick.

I have to admit that I closed my eyes a couple of times, especially when flying over a ridge. There is a difference to look 20 meter down to the ground or 200 meters. What I really like about the helicopter is moving upwards like an elevator and having enough time to take photos.   I will do it again …

Here the  link to the company Chamonix-Helicopter.

Mont-Saxonnex

Mont-Saxonnex lays above the Arve valley in the french alps. The village’s church is build on one of the most beautiful spots I have seen – beside Mont-St-Michel in the Bretagne. The view to the Arve valley is breathtaking.

East Berlin and Potsdam 1990

What a great exciting time it has been 1989 – 1990 in Berlin when the wall had felt and it was possible to discover East Berlin and the areas around Berlin. It was a time to take photos of unique street scenes and to document the results from 40 years of socialism.

The houses in the East were grey and broken. The East Germans said: “What the second world war didn’t destroy, the communists did.”  Today these places disappeared with its fascination for every photographer. Enjoy some of the photos I have taken as a youngster.
